We will appoint local experienced representatives and/or surveyors through one of our local offices to ascertain the nature, cause and extent of crew illness, injury or death. Crew wages disputes. Vessel damage, cargo damage, jetty damage and pollution .

Arrest of vessels & dealing with fines
We understand the local workings of the various ports and their managing authorities. If necessary, we also have long standing relationships with local lawyers who have years of experience in working with shipowners and their insurers.
Issuing Letters of Guarantee
We are well known in the various ports where we have offices and are often called upon by our principals to prepare and issue Letters of Undertaking in order to avoid vessel delays.
Personal Injury, Illness & Death
Africa Marine Services will arrange for any injured, sick or deceased crew member/non-crew members disembarkation, hospitalisation or repatriation. If a fatality should occur we have years of experience in liaising with local Embassies and the deceased’s’ family members in order to ensure that the repatriation of the deceased is carried out swiftly and with dignity
Stowaways
Our team have managed hundreds of successful outcomes with stowaway cases over the past 25 years. We have built up many contacts with Embassies and local Government departments and officials to ensure the best outcome.
